Your Business name and address exposed to the public in an ad!!

Recently I received an email from a Commercial Brokerage with a new listing. This is a common action for everyone in the Brokerage industry. What is not common and a major breach of confidentiality is when the ad that goes to the public (no NDA) has not only the business name, but address too!!

You can imagine what might happen here if the managers, employees or customers find out this business is for sale. The risk is too great and very avoidable. This is a common problem when an inexperienced Agent takes on a business opportunity listing. Most commercial and residential Agents do not understand the ramifications of the above. This listing could’ve been easily advertised in a generic way, not compromising the Sellers business in anyway.

Always engage an experienced Agent, especially if you’re selling a business.
